In week 3 of May Cause Miracles (you can read about week 1 here and week 2 here) we are guided to begin to uncover all of our body image issues. We can abuse our body in a variety of ways with things like; food, alcohol, drugs and even sex.  The ego (aka fear mindset) will project our fears onto our bodies through things like illness, addiction and being overweight. Which means if there is anything going on in your body chances are it has an emotional connection which needs to be healed. But the ego is simply using our body image issues as a vehicle to keep us in the darkness that is living in fear. The ego loves to use our bodies as a tool to separate us from love and ensure that we remain fearful. This is because this is where the ego is most comfortable and any attempt to change this brings out ALOT of resistance. But don’t lose hope yet beautiful, by utilising the simple tools from this week I have witnessed that you can shift your false perceptions of your body and return to love.

5 things I have learnt this week:

  1. Witness the ways you have abused your body
    It is time to get real and acknowledge the ways you have mistreated your body. Maybe you eat foods you know aren’t doing your health any favours, maybe you drink a little bit too much during the weeks, or maybe you are using casual ‘encounters’ to make yourself feel loved. Whatever it is you are doing, you simply need to become aware of it, add in some willingness to change and then allow your inner guide to show you what to do next.
  2. Release & Forgive
    It is SO important to release all judgement!  Stop beating yourself up about the extra muffin you ate, that you skipped the gym yesterday or that you aren’t a certain number on the scales…stop hating on yourself, we have all made mistakes in the past. This self-bashing does more harm than good as it is the exact fuel that your ego needs to stay strong and to make you believe that you are not good enough. Forgive yourself for the ways you have mistreated your body and move on!
  3.   Dig Deep
    It is imperative, albeit scary and confronting. that you uncover where these fears about your body have come from. When we understand that our fears are based on false perceptions we can begin to change the pattern. For example, say that you are fearful of being hungry and as a result you overeat – perhaps this fear come from not having enough food as a child or did one of your parents have issues with food whilst you were growing up and you followed suit.
  4.  Gratitude
    Stop focusing on the things you wish you could change about your body and start realising that there is already so many awesome things about your body. This lesson was really hard but once I shifted my focus the results were immediate and I began to see my body differently. Gorgeous grab a piece of paper (right now, go on do it!) and write down 5 things you love about your body.
  5.  Remember your purpose
    You are here to be the best possible version of yourself, you are here to love and to be loved. You certainly are not here to starve yourself to fit those skinny jeans, to hide from the world and yourself by writing yourself off on a regular basis or to attempt to find love by using your body. You are here to be healthy and happy, and understand that your body is merely a vehicle for growth and healing.

Day 15: A New Reflection

AFFIRMATION: MY FALSE PERCEPTIONS OF MY BODY ARE AN ATTACK. TODAY I CHOOSE LOVE INSTEAD OF MY EGO’S PERCEPTIONS.

Focus on looking at the ways that the ego has projected fear onto your body – illness, addiction, being overweight. Witness how far has created your body image but do so without judgement. The key is simply the willingness to witness your fear.

Day 16: My Body Is Light

AFFIRMATION: I TURN MY PERCEPTION OF MY BODY OVER TO THE CARE OF MY INNER GUIDE. SHOW ME WHAT YOU’VE GOT…

Today allow your inner guide to help you heal your ego’s false perceptions of your body. You not longer need to work on “fixing” your body image issues because you can invite your inner guide to assist you. Remember that the ego is simply using your body image issues as a vehicle to keep you in fear mode. Choose love over fear today.

Day 17: What Do I Choose To See In The Mirror?

AFFIRMATION: I AM NOT MY BODY. I AM FREE.

The ego loves using our body to help with separating you from love and keeping your fearful. The more fear we have and the more separate we becomes, the stronger our ego becomes – so expect some resistance! A great quote from Day 17 which reinforces this is: Whatever is insane to the ego is sane to your Inner Guide. Realise that your body is simply a vehicle to give and receive Love.

Day 18: Gettin’ My Gratitude On!

AFFIRMATION: I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY BODY.

Today focus on showing gratitude and remembering the positive things about your body. “Your body’s true purpose: to be the embodiment of love and therefore a messenger for love” (MCM).

Day 19: The Inverse Of The Fog

Forgiveness day!

AFFIRMATION: FORGIVENESS RESTORES MY PERCEPTION OF MY BODY BACK TO LOVE..

Forgive the false perceptions that you have placed on your body. This is the goal of today’s work: to weaken the power we’ve given to the ego’s fog and clear space for the light. The key to forgiveness if simply the WILLINGNESS to forgive, let your inner guide show you the way.

Day 20: The Miracle of Your Body

AFFIRMATION: I ACCEPT THE TRUE FUNCTION OF MY BODY. I ACCEPT THAT I AM A MESSENGER FOR LOVE.

The work we have done this week has been preparing us for today, where we have the opportunity to show the ego that we are not separate bodies among bodies, but rather spirit among spirits. Focus on beginning to understand and accept our body’s true function: to be love and extend love.

“By accepting your body’s true function, which is to be a messenger for love; you’ll likely experience a miraculous shift… the miracle is a shift from body identification to spirit identification.” (MCM)
