In case you missed it…I am currently studying to be a Life Coach with the Beautiful You Coaching Academy!
I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Beautiful You Inspiration Day in Melbourne. WOW…a room full of life coaches and coaches in training – the energy was powerful. We were fortunate enough to hear from Julie Parker, Beautiful You Founder and CEO, Kate James and Melissa Ambrosini. It was such an uplifting and inspiring day, so I knew I had to share all of the amazing nuggets of wisdom.
Kate James is a career and business coach and meditation teacher. Utilising tools from Positive Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Kate’s programs are assist clients to identify their unique strengths, develop self-belief and discover their own version of a purposeful life. Kate’s interest in mindfulness is underpinned by Buddhist philosophy, but her approach is mainstream.
Mindfulness means paying attention to the present moment, on purpose and without judgment. Mindfulness is the way we live, whereas meditation is the practice that allows us to be mindful.
Kate shared 5 beautiful tips to live mindfully:
- Be present
Pay attention to the present moment, on purpose and without judgment.
- Be mindful of thoughts and feelings
Ask yourself: how can I show up and be myself? Keep in constant contact with who you are.
- Be mindful of your actions
Think about the foundation you have; healthy and well being, food, relationships, money etc. What energises you? What drains you?
- Make plans mindfully
Stay true to your vision.
- Mindfully make contributions to others
Be clear with what the difference is that you want to make in the world.
Melissa Ambrosini is the bestselling author of Mastering Your Mean Girl, a keynote speaker, an entrepreneur and self-love teacher. In her signature straight-talking style, Melissa teaches women how to master their inner Mean Girl, smash through limiting beliefs, and ditch the self-doubt so that they can start truly living the life of their dreams. Named a ‘self-help guru’ by Elle Magazine her mission is to inspire women across the globe to create a heart-centred life one that’s wildly wealthy, fabulously healthy and bursting with love.
Melissa taught us how to Master our Mean Girls with a simple 3 step process:
Start to become aware of your mean girl and the story she keeps replaying like a broken record. Ask yourself; where is your mean girl holding you back? How does that make you feel? Then grab out your journal and complete this sentence: My mean girl is telling me…
- Close the door gently
Make a conscious choice to close the door gently on your mean girl. Remind yourself that just because you think something, does not make it real. You have to do something different, if you want something different.
- Choose love instead
Make love your default setting. Reframe what your mean girl is saying into a positive affirmation.
If you haven’t already read Mel’s book, Mastering Your Mean Girl, I highly recommend you grab a copy.
